What is a Space Apps Challlenge?

  • A Challenge oftentimes points to a problem facing our planet/universe and provides resources to help participants solve the problem

  • Challenges are what participants will be working on during the 2-day event.

  • All challenges and the detailed descriptions are given out few weeks before the event

What does a Challenge consist of?

  • Title: Main title given to the challenge.

  • Tags: Tags associated with the challenge to help participants narrow down by category which challenge they want to work on. Tags can include:

        - Beginner/Youth Friendly, Intermediate, Advanced
        - Different subject tags that indicate what topic the Challenge has to do with.
        - Space Apps is dedicated to providing challenges that are accessible to all skill types. The highlighted tags emphasize STEAM over STEM and can be                 helpful for some of your non-technical/beginner participants.

  • Challenge Summaries: Brief overview of the challenge topic and what participants are being asked to solve in that specific challenge.

  • Challenge Statements: Background on the challenge topic, objectives (desired outcome or the end goal participants are working towards), considerations and tips that might help guide participants in their journey.

  • Challenge Resources: Example resources of NASA and Space Agency Partner open-source data that can help solve the challenge.
