The Hackathon
The NASA Space Apps Challenge (or Space Apps) is an international hackathon that will take place at various city around the globe over a 2 day period between October 4th and 5th, 2025. In this event, there are Winners from every Local city event who will qualify for global nomination. The experts from NASA and others will select the Global Winners in various categories.
This event embraces collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing open-source solutions to challenges we currently face on Earth and in space.

No coding experience needed for participation. YES, challenges with many different solution types are called for. Explore previous years challenge solution here.

Mountain House Event
NASA space apps event in Mountain House was hosted for the very first time in 2023. The response was amazing and YES, we are back in 2025 for the 3rd time. The new city of Mountain House will have a virtual hackathon on Oct 4-5 this year.
The organizing team is your go to place if you need any help. Before the actual hackathon in October, there will be information sessions, regular office hours, team building sessions and challenge run-through sessions. The main goal is to equip all the participants with all the details and resources available to make it a fun and learning experience during the Hackathon.
By participating in Mountain House local event, YOU will become part of the international hackathon community!
There will be 3 Mountain House winners and the first winner will be a Global Nominee.
Global Nominee will advance Global Judging and Executive judging by Space Agency Leaders and a Global Winner will be declared in Jan 2026!
